The Elizabethan time period was when the renaissance in England coincided with the reign of Elizabeth I who was queen of England and Ireland from 1558 until 1603, and is often  referred  to as the Elizabethan time period. It was also the time of the introducing of the printing press. Witchcraft and witches existed during this period. During the Renaissance period people blamed unexplainable events as the work of witches. there was also the belief of superstition. Fear of the supernatural and forces of nature or god resulted in the belief of superstitions during the Elizabethan period.
